Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the single TLD intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domains remained operational.

Through our firm, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer code from the present registration provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special regulations on who can book a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME generic domain name extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the right spelling in your native language.
